Glada Vappen = Happy Walpurgis day

Today from the 30 of April to 1st of May we here in Finland like in many countries in Central and Northern Europe celebrate Walpurgis day (Vappu).

In Finland Vappu is one of the biggest carnival-style festival we have. In our calendar Vappu is the celebration of Finnish labour and hence many people wear different kinds of student caps. Picnic is also one traditional way of celebrating Vappu. Student caps, mead (sima), streamers and balloons have their role in the picnic, as well as in the celebration as a whole.

We had a Vappu-Circus at my work yesterday and we all dressed up as carnival style I made my trousers myself They are so funny. I made every piece of different fabric and there are pockets only in one piece and they are of every shape and sizes I'm so proud of my bow. It's so huge and cute! Very pleased with my work there
